Understanding Vein Diseases

Vein diseases include common conditions such as varicose veins, deep vein thrombosis, capillary dilation, venous ulcers, and May-Thurner Syndrome. We provide essential information to help you understand their symptoms, causes, and treatment options. Whether it’s prevention or treatment, we are here to offer expert advice and support.

Weakened vein walls or poor blood flow cause the veins in the legs to enlarge and swell.

Small blood vessels dilate, forming visible red or blue veins typically on the skin surface.

A blood clot forms in the veins, which can lead to serious complications like pulmonary embolism.

Skin ulcers that do not heal due to venous insufficiency, commonly found on the lower legs.

Compression of the left iliac vein by the iliac artery, obstructing blood flow and increasing the risk of deep vein thrombosis.

Frequently Asked Questions

Not all varicose veins require surgery. Mild cases can be managed with compression stockings, leg elevation, and lifestyle changes. Surgery is usually considered when symptoms worsen or complications occur.

CHIVA is a minimally invasive treatment for varicose veins that preserves the vein structure. It has minimal bleeding and bruising. Most patients can walk on the same day and return to normal activities within 1–2 days.

Common early symptoms include swelling, pain, tenderness, redness, or warmth in one leg. Seek medical attention promptly if DVT is suspected to avoid serious complications like pulmonary embolism.
